A recent summer trend I’ve noticed emerge from all the glitz and glamour are light denim pieces. With the spring’s style focusing on seventies fashion (think high waisted pants, ruffle and bow tie blouses, and rompers), the look of the time has carried on into summer fashion. Whether it’s light denim jackets, dresses, jumpers, or just jeans, the look is clearly gracing the bodies of style’s most prevalent icons.

British model and style guru Alexa Chung was spotted wearing an adorable light denim dress that caused much commotion on fashion blogs worldwide. Paired with gray tights, black pumps and a black blazer, she looks so stunningly retro and hip.
Many designers are also channeling this look, such as British designer Peter Jensen and Chanel (shown above). Here model Hilary Rhoda shows off a light denim Chanel swimsuit on the cover of French Elle.
